Who do you work with?

I work with adults in individual therapy. I often treat working professionals and offer flexible scheduling with early morning and evening appointment times. I am licensed and able to see clients in NY and NJ.

What is CBT/DBT?

CBT and DBT are evidence-based behavioral theories of practice. CBT focuses on identifying and adjusting unhelpful or irrational thought patterns that impact our feelings and behaviors. DBT has an emphasis on mindfulness and other emotional regulation/tolerance techniques. Both of these can be more actionable and concrete than other approaches.

What is psychodynamic therapy?

Psychodynamic is a board term, but this form of therapy typically focuses on formative experiences that may have occurred in childhood and provides insight into current adult functioning. It explores unconscious processes and the deeper emotional roots of present problems.

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently an out-of-network provider and can help you navigate your insurance to determine whether your plan will pay for a percentage of the rate per session.

Therapy is an investment of time and money, just like going to the gym. Being financially invested in your treatment can help you remain committed to the work when it gets difficult. Additionally, not directly accepting insurance allows for us to have more freedom determining the scope and quality of your treatment, giving you more control over your services. It also protects your privacy because in-network providers have to share some of your personal information to receive payment.

What is the cost of a session?

My rate per session is $250 and I offer a sliding scale on a limited basis. Please contact me directly to discuss in more detail.

How long are sessions?

We typically will meet for 45 minutes on a weekly basis. Depending on the case and/or treatment goals, sessions may longer and/or more frequent.

I'm happy to address any other specific questions in a free phone consultation.
